The most successful mentoring outcomes emerge when clients are genuinely open-minded, willing to challenge themselves, and eager to engage with someone who has direct and relevant corporate experience.
Hence, the chemistry we develop is vital.
Mentoring is a profoundly enriching experience that shares many principles with coaching. But in mentoring sessions, clients are more likely to tap into my knowledge and experiences, and I am more likely to offer guidance and a personal reflection grounded in my professional journey.
As with coaching, every conversation is conducted in a safe and confidential manner.
I encourage clients to delve deeply into their topic - exploring their significance, aspirations, available options, and actionable steps. As well as these practical elements, our discussions frequently revolve around themes such as courage, self-belief, confidence, and imposter syndrome.
In mentoring, we build a relationship over time and clients can dip in and out of it as required. It is often more informal, lasts longer, and has a broader range of outcomes than coaching.
